Boris commença à produire sous le nom de NOISTRUCT en 1999 alors qu’il vivait à Perth (Australie) en tant que nouveau projet en plus de sa participation au groupe d’Extrême Noise : ANALOGUE SEAOTTER.

Il débuta en produisant une musique Breakbeat avec une orientation Noise avant de donner une direction Hardcore Indus & Breakcore à ses compos. Il fut également le co-fondateur du label 8-BIT Recordings à Perth en 2001, en compagnie de LAST NINJA et de DAEDCODE.

Parallèlement il commença à organiser des soirées Hardcore autour de Perth.   Début 2002, il créa DT7 Distribution en compagnie d’un autre artiste Breakbeat : CODEK afin de diffuser la musique Hardcore sur Perth ! Mais cette structure ne dura pas longtemps…  

Frustré par le manque d’intérêt suscité par le Hardcore à Perth, il déménagea pour Sydney en juin 2003. Là bas, en plus de jouer dans de nombreuses « squat parties » organisées par SYSTEM CORRUPT, KILLERWATTS ou encore BLOODY FIST, il anima l’émission radio du label SYSTEM CORRUPT sur 2SER Fm (en compagnie de THE SHREDDER). Par la suite, ce show radio prit le nom d’ « ILLEGAL FREQUENCIES ».  

En septembre 2004, il déménage cette fois pour Melbourne où il joue dans de nombreuses soirées (notamment les « UNCOMFORT » ou encore des soirées organisées par le crew BLACK LOTUS). Il continua d’animer l’émission « ILLEGAL FREQUENCIES » cette fois sur RRR Fm 102.7 ( http://www.rrr.org.au ). Emission qu’il continue aujourd’hui d’animer.

Il produit principalement du Hardcore Indus et du Breakcore mais également de l’IDM et des morceaux plutôt orientés Dark Ambient sous le nom de « MANDARK ».

Ses drogues sont le fromage et la caféine, et il continue à jouer en tant que batteur dans certains petits groupes !

Biography

Boris Otterdam started NOISTRUCT in 1999 in Perth Western Australia as a side project for Extreme Noise band ANALOGUE SEAOTTER.

Beginning as Breakbeat oriented Noise and later moving on to Industrial Hardcore and Breakcore, He co-founded Perth's first Breakcore label/collective 8-BIT Recordings with THE LAST NINJA and DEADCORE in 2001 and begun organising Hardcore / Breakcore nights around the city.

In early 2002 he started the short lived “DT7 Distribution” label with Industrial Breakbeat artist CODEK so other Hardcore labels would have an outlet in Perth.  

Frustrated with the lack of interest from audiences and venues in Perth he relocated to Sydney in June 2003 to become part of the Hardcore / Breakcore scene. Apart from playing warehouse and squat parties with the likes of SYSTEM CORRUPT, KILLERWATTS and BLOODY FIST he also hosted SYSTEM CORRUPT radio which eventually became “ILLEGAL FREQUENCIES” (with THE SHREDDER) on 2SER Fm.  

In September 2004 he moved again this time to Melbourne and played shows at regular nights such as “UNCOMFORT” and at various parties with the BLACK LOTUS crew and restarted “ILLEGAL FREQUENCIES” on RRRfm 102.7 ( http://www.rrr.org.au ) where it is still running.

Boris mostly makes Breakcore, Hardcore and Industrial but sometimes he makes IDM and Glitch as well as Dark Ambient under the name "MANDARK"

He is powered by caffeine and cheese and he has also drummed for a few bands.
